Summary/Abstract: The present paper offers a theological and philosophical analysis of one of the most pressing issues of the modern and postmodern age: the loss of existential meaning, which has arisen in the context of the advance of nihilism, axiological relativism, and identity fragmentation. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the study highlights that the root of the crisis of meaning does not lie in social or cultural mutations, but in the ontological rupture produced by humanity’s estrangement from God and from the horizon of Revelation. Orthodoxy does not respond to this crisis by pragmatic adaptation to the spirit of the age or by ideological syncretism, but by reaffirming the centrality of divine Revelation, lived and actualized within the Church as the space of existential encounter with Christ. The meaning of human existence is presented as being inextricably linked to communion with God and to participation in the liturgical and sacramental life of the Church, while the universality of Revelation is not understood as a mere cultural extension, but as the ontological foundation of the human vocation to deification. Thus, in the face of fragmentation, alienation, and metaphysical apathy characteristic of liquid modernity, Orthodoxy proposes the rediscovery of meaning through participation in ecclesial life, the assumption of Tradition, and the integral experience of the encounter with the incarnate Logos, which constitutes both the foundation and the ultimate horizon of every human aspiration towards meaning, fulfillment, and salvation.
