Summary/Abstract: The paper explores the theme of caring for the sick from a Christian-Orthodox perspective, based on scriptural, patristic, and theological teachings, highlighting the importance of caring for the sick in Christian tradition, and emphasizing that this does not only represent a moral obligation or an act of charity, but is a manifestation of Christian love and following Christ. In the scriptural part, the work discusses various texts from the Old and New Testament dealing with the theme of caring for the sick, from the laws of Moses regarding purification and illness to the healings and teachings of the Saviour Jesus Christ. The author highlights the role of the community and faith in the healing process, as well as the importance of serving those in need. On the patristic side, the contributions of the Holy Fathers, such as Saint John Chrysostom and Saint Basil the Great, are analysed to illustrate the Church's response to human suffering. Their initiatives, such as the establishment of hospitals and charity institutions, demonstrate practically how Christian teachings were applied in the care of the sick and the poor. In this context, caring for the sick is presented as an extension of Christ's love towards the suffering and as a path of personal purification and sanctification.
