Summary/Abstract: The death of King Uzziah prepares the prophet Isaiah for a mission in which the important role will be played in the presence of the Lord. The transient and dramatic existence of a king causes a prophet to have a spiritual vision that will positively influence many believers. King Uzziah goes from a beneficial and prosperous reign to a dramatic end. In this historical context, the prophet Isaiah becomes a man full of hope. God is with us even in dramatic situations. The Lord’s servants, the seraphim, purify and strengthen the prophet in a miraculous theophany. The prophet embraces both the king’s death and the weight of a life full of obstacles, giving it a high and edifying meaning.
