Summary/Abstract: Starting from Chiara Elefante’s theoretical contributions on the paratext as a privileged space for translation criticism and the manifestation of the translator’s ethos, this article analyses the role of these areas in the configuration and reception in Italy of the bilingual volume La soglia trasparente / Prag transparent by Rodica Marian (Macchione, 2024). The analysis highlights the function of the paratext as a space for symbolic transaction between author, translator, editor and citator.
