Summary/Abstract: The inauguration of President Donald Trump’s second term has triggered an unprecedented disruption in the international order, sending shockwaves across global security frameworks. This paper explores the hypothesis that the decisions of the current U.S. administration are ideologically grounded in accelerationism – a worldview fundamentally at odds with the liberal values underpinning European Union policy. We analyze the implications of this ideological shift for global, regional, and national security, particularly in the context of a potential U.S. withdrawal from NATO and Europe. Our findings suggest that accelerationism is not merely a fringe philosophy but a strategic framework influencing elite actors and institutions with tangible geopolitical consequences.
