Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the importance of tactical data links (TDL) within the C4ISR system, pointing out their crucial role in ensuring a continuous and almost real-time exchange of information between military platforms in multiple domains (land, air, naval and space). The implementation of the NATO Link 16 standard for secure and jam-resistant tactical communications, as well as their deployment on combat platforms, facilitates the integration and interoperability of allied forces. The article examines advanced technologies for transmission, including the use of satellites to extend Link 16 connectivity, and their impact on the efficiency and success of military operations. In the context of the continued deployment of these capabilities by NATO member states, it underlines the importance of this infrastructure for the realization of a Common Operational Picture and effective mission coordination in multi-domain operations.
