Summary/Abstract: This article explores the genealogy of the Syrian conflict and examines the role of the UN Security Council in its mitigation. Structured along two primary axes, the article investigates the outbreak of the civil war in Syria, the impact on the civilian population, and the UN's crisis management efforts. The first chapter elucidates the internal factors that precipitated the crisis, the escalation of the conflict, and the war's impact on Syrian citizens. The second chapter illuminates UN involvement through international observers, peace negotiations, and humanitarian interventions. It also addresses the resolutions adopted by the Security Council to end hostilities and facilitate the reconstruction of the Syrian state.
