Summary/Abstract: All registered motor vehicles are subject to mandatory periodic technical inspections. The regulations differ depending on the type of motor vehicle being driven. This applies to the manufacturer's technical specifications (how the vehicle is registered with the local administration and for what purposes it is used). In recent years, Bulgarian legislation has been amended to align with European legislation and establish stricter criteria for admitting/withdrawing motor vehicles from circulation. Bulgarian legislation is adapting to European standards faster than we are technically prepared to implement the adopted requirements. It turns out that vehicles classified as ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) are almost impossible to pass a technical inspection in most of the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.
