Summary/Abstract: In recent years, the so-called ATVs have become increasingly popular. Those wishing to purchase such a vehicle encounter several difficulties regarding the registration of ATVs (including difficulties in interpreting the law, unfamiliarity with the vehicle itself, or obvious attempts to circumvent costs). The term „ATV“ is an abbreviation for „All Terrain Vehicle“ in English. But what do we understand by an all-terrain vehicle? ATVs are often classified by the population as a type of four-wheeled motorcycle or small jeep. This article provides an overview of the EU and Republic of Bulgaria's regulatory requirements for placing motor vehicles on the market and registering them, including laws, ordinances and regulations. It also discusses the difficulties encountered by the population.
