Summary/Abstract: Scholarly communication is carried out through academic journals, scientific conferences and intellectual debates, which are the conduit to disseminate insights and knowledge across academic disciplines. This article studies academic journal articles, focusing on their structure and components and highlighting their central role in sharing original research. Additionally, we outline the specific characteristics of different types of journals – peer- or double-peer reviewed, with open or limited access. These idiosyncrasies can help young researchers disseminate effectively their work in relevant academic journals. Special attention is drawn to the editorial policies of Lyuboslovie, a journal of Humanities, published at Shumen University, in compliance with the requirements of global databases.
