Summary/Abstract: The Church-State relationship involves several angles of analysis, one of which is the one referring to the Baptist Christian Churches in Romania. With a presence attested in Romanian space since the middle of the nineteenth century, they had to cope with the changes and restrictions imposed by the communist regime. Starting from this reality, the study presents events from the life of the Baptist community in Romania during the 1980s of the20th century. We present a series of state provisions on supervision, control, and in some cases even repression, but also the response of an individual or institutional Christian Baptist Churches to believers and worship personnel, thus contributing to a complex understanding of religious life of that period.
