Summary/Abstract: The paper examines a few aspects of the dialogue prompted by the relations between truth and interpretation in the so-called post-truth era. Beyond the endless (historical) discussions regarding the difficulties of defining types of truth (objective truth, subjective truth, truth of faith, truth of art, etc.), this paper is particularly concerned with the subtle tyranny exercised by truth understood as interpretation and interpretation perceived as truth, which in turn is a phenomenon capable of influencing and shaping attitudes and behaviours in almost all areas of cultural and social life. From the humanities (particularly, philosophy and hermeneutics), as well as from the texts of poets (Mihai Eminescu), a few instances of the truth are selected and commented upon, instances adept to strengthen hope and faith in the truth and in its correlative system of values.
