Summary/Abstract: In the criminal proceedings of the Russian Federation, procedural documents are procedural acts in which the actions and decisions of authorities and officials who conduct the proceedings in criminal cases are recorded. They are divided into two groups: records of investigative and judicial actions that confirm the fact of implementation, content and results of investigative and judicial actions, and rulings, which can be expressed in the form of an order, decision, judgment, conclusion. On the other hand, statutes of limitations are time periods after the expiration of which the legal consequences of committing a crime do not apply: the person is released from criminal liability or is not sentenced. In addition, a submission in criminal proceedings is a petition submitted for the fullest possible exercise of one's rights, by which a person requests the implementation of procedural actions or the adoption of procedural decisions or the waiver thereof, which is addressed to an authority or an official who has the appropriate authorizations in the criminal proceedings. The paper analyzes the concept and types of criminal procedural documents; concept, types and method of calculating procedural deadlines; concept, as well as the method of submission, consideration and resolution of submissions and appeals in criminal proceedings, and the concept, types and method of collection of procedural costs. In this regard, the types of documents required for carrying out a certain procedural action or making a decision, the beginning and end of the procedural deadline and the difference between submissions and appeals in criminal proceedings, are determined. This implies having the skills of compiling procedural documents, applying the provisions of the law in the part that governs procedural deadlines, and acting upon submissions and appeals.
