Summary/Abstract: This text presents a theoretical background of feminist actions against hate graffiti. It begins with the analysis of legal background applicable for punishment for hate graffiti. This is followed by an analysis of who are the hate graffiti creators (artists anarchists, those who are manipulated, etc.) and who is behind them; and, what are the different effects of hate and fear, who is frightened and who is encouraged by them. Hate graffiti should be interpreted in their context rather than isolated phenomena. Eco feminist principles of confronting all forms of hate speech lead to concrete actions against hate graffiti. The text comments feminists’ actions conducted during 2011 in Belgrade and Novi Sad; their effects are analyzed and compared. Conclusion states that there is a lack of permanent, regular official, institutional reaction against hate graffiti and their creators.
