Summary/Abstract: Mentoring involves the existence, promotion, support, and evolution of a mutually shaping relationship established between the mentor and the mentee. It also requires bilateral involvement, motivation, and determination in order to achieve meaningful professional, personal, and social outcomes, especially for the mentee. The benefits of interactions between mentor and mentee can be fully realized only when both parties are fully engaged, participating from as many perspectives as possible: intellectual/cognitive, affective, relational, and communicative.
