Summary/Abstract: The object of study is Polish-Bulgarian lexical approximation, the aim is to present new approximants that are found in the field of colloquial vocabulary. These approximants represent different types from the point of view of known classification criteria (e.g. formal, semantic, morphological, stylistic, etymological). From a formal point of view, the studied linguistic units are complete or incomplete approximants. In terms of semantics, both complete and partial approximation are found. The first type is characteristic of lexical pairs, within the Polish lexeme has only a colloquial meaning. Partial approximation is represented by pairs in which the Polish lexeme has a main non-colloquial meaning and an additional colloquial meaning, through which it enters into a relationship of approximation with the Bulgarian lexeme. The study also reveals some interesting cases of Polish-Bulgarian approximation, which have not been described so far.
