Summary/Abstract: The article examines phraseological units that mean feelings and are formed by using motivating images related to physiological states and reactions. They are designated by the term psychosomatic phraseological units. Two groups of psychosomatic phraseological units are distinguished depending on the way of realizing the psychosomatic connection in them. It is established which are the semantic fields of emotions that express the considered expressions. It is analyzed which bodily states and reactions are associated with the nomination of the various emotions in them. On this basis, some conclusions are drawn about the intuitive knowledge of Bulgarian speakers about physiological reactions when experiencing different emotions.
