Summary/Abstract: The thirtieth anniversary of the death of Ivan Cankar in 1948 was marked in Sofia with the staging of his play “The King of Betajnova”, and of particular importance is the fact that the translation is the work of the great Bulgarian poetess Elisaveta Bagryana. And the centenary of the writer's death is an occasion to systematically follow the reception of his work in Bulgaria, where we will be interested in the translations of his works, theatrical contacts and the socio-cultural context.
