Summary/Abstract: Writing is not only a process of perpetual interpretation, but also successive adaptation to different cultural realities. In this context, translation as a kind of writing is also successive adaptation to different cultural realities. This paper begins with some general theoretical observations about the very act of translation by Vesna Mojsova-Čepiševska, then showing how this works through the experiences with translation of Sonja Dolžan (from Slovenian into Macedonian and from Macedonian into Slovenian) and of Duško Krstevski (from Bulgarian into Macedonian), focusing on the problems they face while translating and coming up with the most appropriate solutions.
