Summary/Abstract: The report examines the possibilities for optimizing cost rates in an enterprise for the production of products for the railway industry, by changing the raw material. The types of labor rates, types of production and the raw material used for the production of a transformer are examined. The cost price of the product is calculated depending on the material used. It has been established that changing the starting material in the production of the product is an effective tool for reducing the cost price, increasing production efficiency and achieving sustainability in medium-volume production.
