Summary/Abstract: This article aims to shed light on a relatively new yet highly significant concept in linguistic studies, but one that is of great importance and utility: specialized languages. The purpose is to highlight the importance of their complex and changing reality and the growing interest in learning that guarantees access to borderless education and effective and professionally correct communication. At first glance, a conceptual and terminological definition of specialized languages is established based on existing theoretical concepts in the field. Afterwards reviewing the main approaches, the study focuses on the emergence of its ramifications and specifies its importance for the needs of learners with a view to successful communication in academic and professional contexts.
