Summary/Abstract: The ruler’s personality and the imprint it leaves on the nicknames by which they are most recognizable often lead to remarkable creativity. It is notable that rulers are almost always designated by one, and sometimes by several, epithets. The personality, the ruler, and the ruler’s personality encoded in the epithet are intriguing interdisciplinary issues that attract the attention of various fields due to their complex nature. However, in the present study, which forms part of a larger work, the approach will be taken from the perspective of linguoculturology, with reference to the specific features of the Iberian Peninsula.
