Summary/Abstract: The idea of this text is to draw attention to the role of the clown and clowning in contemporary arts, as well as to their potential, which makes them a suitable tool for medical mediation under the term “medical clowning”. The beginning discusses the specifics of this art form and its relationship with pantomime, circus and theater. The second part emphasizes what transforms it into an instrument for art therapy and an aid in treatment, concluding with specific examples of its application from global and especially Bulgarian practice, highlighting the activities of the Association “Metamorphoses”, which is led by actresses and mimes Iva Lapatova and Yanita Kirova, who call themselves Dr. Kuku and Dr. Pippi.
