Summary/Abstract: By adopting the 2030 Agenda, UN member countries committed themselves to achieving the goals of sustainable development. Progress towards the stated goals requires the adoption of a comprehensive strategy, and the commitment of all actors for its realization. Following the achievement of these goals since 2015, when Agenda 2030 was adopted, it was determined that countries that are not members of the EU are significantly worse in achieving the goals of sustainable development than European countries and the EU average. The corona virus pandemic, as well as the most recent crises, in some countries have slowed down activities towards achieving these goals, while in some countries negative trends can be observed. Observing the countries of the Western Balkans, on the one hand, and Croatia and Slovenia as EU members, on the other hand, a lower status of achieving the goals of sustainable development of the countries of the Western Balkans can be observed, 'while negative or stagnant trends can also be observed in these countries that belong to the EU. It apparently speaks in support of the general knowledge that the general crisis in the world has led to a slowdown in activities towards sustainable development not only in non-EU countries, but in all countries.
