Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the effects of artificial intelligence on companies and society as a whole. The research primarily focuses on legal aspects, cyber-security issues and the labor market. Companies adopt new technologies for numerous reasons such as productivity and efficiency growth, process standardization, quality improvement, regulatory adjustments, revenue and sales growth, market share growth, etc. The introduction of new technologies leads to higher added-value per employee, and thus to higher labor productivity, which in the long run leads to greater material well-being in society. There are numerous challenges related to the application of AI, including issues of reliability, privacy, cyber-security, social equity, policy and law, education, employment, and more. There are also certain fears, such as the fear of losing control over AI, that have arisen in recent years.
