Summary/Abstract: The article analyses some points of digital civil culture, which could be integrated it into the teaching of Bulgarian language and literature. We comment some possible risks of an exclusive fixation on utility and functionality in teaching and learning. The article presents the concept of digital civic culture as related to digital, social and information literacy. The skills developed in Bulgarian language training are presented - skills for working with media texts; skills for working with normative texts; skills for conducting debates on issues of a political, social or institutional nature; skills for critical working with media text; skills to recognize the language of propaganda; skills for adequate behavior within the relevant social roles; skills to prevent and overcome conflicts in communication; skills for working with digital sources.
