Summary/Abstract: Digital media are changing the very structure of society and, perhaps most importantly, the way people interact, which affects their choices, preferences, social and professional fulfillment, values, and even social and personal destiny. The presence of each individual in a (social) network in the conditions of modern political, moral, economic, etc. reality could become an important condition for a person’s meaningful stay in society today, even for their social destiny. The same applies to web-based or digital communication, which takes up more and more time in people’s lives and is becoming one of the main ways of social interaction. These problems are important, as they are also related to the tasks of education or training in media professions, which must necessarily include courses in ethics. The article examines the question of whether ethics in web-based and digitized communication activity can possibly justify a normative moral regulatory system that is necessary for the contemporary media environment.
