Summary/Abstract: Security services, not only the military, have undergone reforms in recent years of democratic transition and, accordingly, reorganization of the activities they perform. Intelligence includes active actions aimed at collecting, accumulating and processing valuable information, prohibited for access by third parties, including scientific and technical espionage. It can be legal and ethical intelligence when it uses open sources, but competition and other external factors can have a negative impact and this can lead to a change in the focus of action. Here it is necessary to take into account the fact that all activities are carried out by people who are sometimes subject to events outside the legal norms. However, where is the limit of action for intelligence and counterintelligence officers, who are carriers of information that can be used for actions that violate moral foundations and ethical norms in practice? Is it possible for holders of important information to succumb to various „temptations“ and work for the interests of competitors, to the detriment of their own organization, even in the past tense?
