Summary/Abstract: The scientific report is focused on the study of the place and role of police intelligence (operational intelligence – OID) in the process of risk analysis in the system of the General Directorate of Border Police in the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria. It focuses on the current situation as well as the challenges and prospects for police intelligence units after Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area. Approaches to enhance the contribution of the OID at tactical level are proposed.
