Summary/Abstract: The concept of competitive intelligence is also known as business intelligence. The Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) defines competitive intelligence as planned actions of companies to systematically and ethically collect, analyze and manage information about the external environment that can affect the implementation of the company's plans and its work as a whole. Competitive intelligence is an activity that provides the company's management with the information necessary for anticipatory decision-making. This is not only the acquisition of information, but also its classification, analysis and forecasting of the development of the situation and the preparation of recommendations to the management. The need for information about competitors seems to automatically raise the issue of corporate security.
