Summary/Abstract: Animal-Assisted Activities (A.A.A.) play a crucial role in building self-image in children by fostering emotional support, boosting confidence, and enhancing social skills. Through interaction with animals, children experience unconditional acceptance, helping them feel valued and appreciated. A.A.A. encourages responsibility, as children learn to care for animals, which promotes a sense of accomplishment and capability. Additionally, therapy animals can facilitate positive social interactions, reducing anxiety and promoting cooperation. These experiences help children develop emotional regulation, empathy and self-worth, leading to improved self-esteem and a more positive self-concept over time. A.A.A. offers a powerful tool for holistic emotional development in children.
