Summary/Abstract: Unlike social adaptation, resocialization includes re-education. A convicted person who has been resocialized or re-educated has experienced a radical change in his personality, has changed his behavior and respects social norms and rules of behavior, not out of fear of punishment, but because he believes that such behavior is the only correct one. The path of re-education is much more difficult and complex than the path of social adaptation or correction. The idea of resocialization or re-education, as opposed to the idea of correction, is based on trust in the convicted person, who should strive for inclusion in social life. In this way, more lasting results are achieved, because the convicted person accepts socially adapted behavior out of his own interest. The goal of this paper is to point out the importance, forms and characteristics of re-education treatment, and its role in the overall process of re-socialization of convicted persons.
