Summary/Abstract: Times of turmoil and uncertainty, periods of world conflicts, fierce power struggles between the great powers, the emergence of revolutionary changes in entire societies, the emergence of systemic cracks within the existing world order, have always been observed by contemporaries with fear and suspicion before the unknowns that all such great challenges carried. On the other hand, such turmoil was simultaneously seen as a possibility that something could change for the better, that something new and more advanced could be discovered and adopted, which would fundamentally change the lives of states, societies and individuals. Today we are witnessing tectonic shifts that have led to the renewal of the rivalry between the great powers from the Cold War period. They are accompanied by growing chaos throughout the world, which indicates the possibility of change and the emergence of a new world order. Global political tendencies have thus led to a hot phase of a new Cold War with actors almost the same as in the past, where interventionism by the great powers is increasingly spreading, while bloc structures - political, economic and military - are gaining momentum in different parts of the world, inciting states and peoples against each other, all with the aim of one side preserving its privileged position, while the other seeks to challenge it in every way.
