Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the novel A Vida no Ceu by José Eduardo Agualusa. Its aim is to analyze the book as a way to play with creativity, at the same time perceiving it as a comment addressing today´s issues. With references to the theory of António Cândido, according to whom fiction is always based on reality that it intends to transform, the purpose of the article is to find a similar attempt in the studied novel. At the end of the day, Agualusa’s work turns out to be an ecological manifesto with oneiric scenery, purely imagined. Obviously, the writer makes use of the fiction in order to share his appeal to preserve the environment.
