Summary/Abstract: The corporate social responsibility (CSR) concept is still not widely used by transport and infrastructure operators, especially in EU member-states with transition economies and high share of shadow economy. In this regard, the purpose of the present paper is to identify the problems that hinder CSR principles application in the relative transport modes, while also searching for solutions to overcome them. The CSR concept could be examined as a prerequisite for insuring sustainable competitive advantage for transport companies in regard higher rate of labor productiveness, better relationships with customers, producers, and suppliers, as well as responsible attitude towards the environment to be achieved.
