Summary/Abstract: Modernism of Alija Isaković’s prose is, among other things, reflected in the way he uses language. This paper deals with certain phonostylistic and syntaxostylistic elements in the short story Taj čovjek by Alija Isaković. Special attention is paid to the syntaxostylistic aspects where parallelism, elliptical sentences are analyzed. In addition, the paper points out the importance of the inchoative and finitive sentences in the understanding of the text.
