Summary/Abstract: We are currently observing how orthography is a discipline in which many students have difficulties. Several teachers consider that this may be due to the widespread use of social networks, chats, etc., which have led to an excessive simplification of the language. However, we believe that new technologies, and especially m-learning, can contribute positively to the acquisition of a good command of orthography. Therefore, we have carried out a fieldwork in which we intend to confirm our hypothesis. The work we present is eminently quantitative and aims to offer a neutral analysis based on the information provided by statistical data. The results seem to indicate that, indeed, there is a correlation between the use of m-learning and the improvement in orthography competence. Additionally, the provided mathematical function describes the expected improvements according to students’ previous competence.
