Summary/Abstract: The book takes a new look at the latest political history of Romania. It combines the analyses of the political and cultural systems of society. The monograph discusses the nature of the Romanian transformation after 1989 in the light of the great political and social processes of the 20th century. The authors attempted to catch the specificity of Romanian society, which stands at the crossroads between Ottoman and Eastern Orthodox Church legacy and contemporary democratic standards.
