Summary/Abstract: Sociocultural changes, technological development, consumerism and a restructuring of the hierarchy of values may generate threats to young people. Educators, teachers and parents are facing many obstacles, dilemmas and educational challenges. The authors of the book offer a truly valuable solution which has not been given proper recognition so far: relaxation-based teaching methods. The publication contains class outlines that can be utilized by professionals in schools, kindergartens, reformatories, orphanages, special care homes; but it can also be a great help to just about anyone willing to practice at home. The unique workshops for children, teenagers and grownups can be separated into three different groups: one covers active neuromuscular relaxation exercises, the second – developing defense mechanisms against stressors, while those in the third teach how we can keep stressors at a safe distance. The exercises suggested in the book allow for the needs and abilities of the target audience, at the same time taking into account the conditions and means within which care and educational institutions operate. The class outlines are ready-made recipes for specific and beneficial activities in pupil or student groups as well as in individual work.
