Summary/Abstract: This volume is the second part of a series, created thanks to the allocation of funds by the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities (module Fundamentals of the 11th competition entitled ‘Patriotism in personal testimonies – diaries, letters, diaries, photographs, albums, musical works, etc.’). The volume contains – preceded by an introduction – 70 accounts by participants in the events of 1920 in Upper Silesia. Through them, an attempt was made to obtain answers to the questions: how did the insurgents present their own past? Does the vision of the 2nd Silesian Uprising presented in the memoir material reflect the ‘memory of authority’ or ‘private memory’? The entire introduction and selected memoirs of the insurgents have been translated into English.
