Summary/Abstract: The book Eurhythmics on the airwaves. The history of Maria Wieman's radio music programmes presents the historical background of post-war music education for children, analysing the work of Maria Wieman and her contribution to the development of radio music programmes. It examines how Wieman used Emil Jaques-Dalcroze’s eurhythmics method to create radio programmes that were an important teaching tool for kindergarten teachers. By analysing radio programmes and methodological and didactic aids, including scripts and songbooks from the years 1948–1976, the author presents the programmes as an important element of pedagogical practice at that time. The book focuses on the methodological value of the preserved radio material and its impact on the development of music education methodology for preschool children in Poland. It is a book for historians of education, musicologists, preschool teachers, students of education, and anyone interested in the history of Polish music education and its methodological foundations. We invite you to read about the roots of modern music education and gain a new perspective on its development in post-war Poland."
