Summary/Abstract: This work constitutes a comprehensive biography of Cornel Grofșorean, a representative figure of the Banat intellectual elite at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The book explores the protagonist's pivotal role within the Banat-Crișana Social Institute and his relationship with the Bucharest School of Sociology (the Gustian phenomenon). Based on rigorous archival documentation and an analysis of contemporary periodicals, the volume reconstructs the profile of a "Mitteleuropa" type intellectual, capturing the transition from the imperial Banat to the interwar period. This study recovers a page of social and cultural history, illustrating the struggles and destiny of a generation within a tumultuous historical context.
