Summary/Abstract: During 1943, Cornel Grofşorean, President of the Banat-Crişana Social Institute in Timişoara, hired the institution he was leading, in his effort to contribute with documentary material and syntheses to support Banat's interests at the Peace Conference at the end of the Second World War. The Institute participates for the second time in the elaboration of supporting materials, the first being the transactions from Turnu-Severin in 1940. The professionalism they proved at that time, constituted a premise for 1943 when Mihai Antonescu was in the center of preparations for „Peace of Tomorrow”.Silviu Dragomir has been co-opted from the beginning in the organizing scheme within the Peace Bureau in Bucharest, linking the Timişoara Institute with the specialized committees, resulting an interesting and unique correspondence, including a drafting of Banat History. The analysis of this correspondence illustrates the great effort made by those involved, Cornel Grofşorean and Silviu Dragomir, as well as Bucharest officials who coordinated the whole activity.Silviu Dragomir understood the difficulties encountered by the Timişoara Institute, thus engaging himself in the logistics of organizing the process, systematically asking for the status of the drafting of the reports, the special documentation needs, the bibliographies, the way in which the decisions of the „The Commission for the Preparation of the Documentary Material for Information and Propaganda for the Peace Conference”.The drafting of the studies required specialists in the fields established by the commission and access to the latest sources of information, situations that Silviu Dragomir was trying to solve in Bucharest. But the whole activity was carefully organized by Cornel Grofşorean from Timişoara, who was extremely seriously involved due to his position as president of Banat-Crişana Social Institute, but also to his patriotic feelings, which had intensified after the Vienna Dictate to the whole public opinion. The way they approached and edited the issues on this occasion, could decide on the future. That is why the preparation of the reports had to be carried out with professionalism and assumption, which results from reading the letters of the two personalities. Since the transfer of the University of Cernăuţi to Timişoara in 1940, the relationship was closer, the coordinating action being relatively easy, each trying to contribute to the end of the process. Fixing the themes to be analyzed by studies was done during the meetings in Timişoara, then approved in the meetings of the Bucharest Commission. Silviu Dragomir in this approach was not only the „adviser”, but he also drafted a highly documented study: Serbs from the Romanian Banat. The results of the studies represent a real synthesis of specific achievements by domains of the Romanian administration since its establishment in 1919, demonstrating potential partners of dialogue to a future peace, full capacity for government, despite the remarks of the German or Hungarian authors who challenged it all European publications hoping of advantageous territorial corrections.
