Summary/Abstract: This book, although initially structured as lectures in the Political theory and philosophy, nevertheless deals with a more integrated group of questions. its scope is governed by the historical development of modern political order and analysis of its leading manifestations such as Liberalism, Socialism, as well as of contemporary forms - Neoliberalism and Populism - that seem to reach beyond limits of Social Contract entering into, as author describes it, the free fall of modern political order. The author discusses primarily the nature of elements of 'Modern political imaginary', their historical and philosophical structures, their mutual relations, their functions in understanding of modern 'Polis' with focus on main thoughts and ideas of more than twenty-five philosophers who significantly shaped our present ethical-political discourse.
