Summary/Abstract: The book is significant for several reasons. First, it continues the edition of Biography, launched at the Ethnographic Institute SANU in 1992, then discontinued in 2000. This edition, in which four books were published, was originally conceived and realized as a testimony of the life of Serbs outside the motherland. In the new cycle, the topic changes; in this edition, it covers the experience of war and exile from the point of view of a young woman, the Slovenian internee Marija Demšar, i.e. her letters and records at the time, subsequently interpreted by her daughter, folklorist and ethnologist Marija Stanonik.
