Summary/Abstract: In the third issue of Foreign Policy Notebooks, which is dedicated to the analysis of the possible directions of transformation of the European Union after Brexit and numerous crises and challenges in the last decade, evaluations of internal relations in the European Union (EU), the position of the EU on the global stage and the power/embeddedness/endangerment of the European value system were given. In all three aspects, the authors try to see how the observed changes and revisions are reflected in the EU enlargement policy and its relationship to the Western Balkans (WB). An attempt is made to answer the question: how do the resulting changes on the European scene reflect on the position and perspectives of the region, which for the first time in history is unique in its common aspiration to integrate with its EU environment? Because, as the migrant crisis has shown, the region is not on the EU's external borders, not its back or front yard, but its mostly still unorganized inner garden.
