Summary/Abstract: "România și Proiectul Briand de Uniune Europeană" / "Romania and the Briand Project for European Union" (2004). The book was positively reviewed by Acad. Florin Constantiniu (a great historian) and received the Romanian Academy Award for History in 2006. It is the first monographic work on this original, valuable, and relevant topic. Our endeavor makes a documentary and interpretive contribution to the historical reconstruction of Romania's policy towards the Briand Plan and its reception in interwar Romanian society. We highlight the reaction of Romanian diplomacy to the French plan and Romania's foreign policy strategy aimed at constructing the European Union in stages. We analyze the impact of the European Union Project on the debate of ideas within interwar Romanian society. We emphasize the significance of adopting the pan-European option in 1930 for the place and role of Romanians in the history of the united Europe idea. Therefore, it is a work of Contemporary History and international relations addressing an issue of Romania's foreign policy and a thesis on the history of the European Union projects in history.
