Summary/Abstract: In his second authored book, Ideea europeană si interesele statelor (The European Idea and the Interests of States) in 2005, he undertook a notable expansion of both thematic and chronological scope, conducting scientific research in the field of modern and contemporary world history. Additionally, in 2005, he analyzed for the first time in Romanian historiography how the ideal of the European Union confronted the specific national interests promoted by the Great Powers (Germany, Great Britain, Italy, USSR), as well as by Central European countries (Hungary, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Romania). Romania is treated synthetically from the perspective of world history, while objectively highlighting its real contribution to the pro-European efforts of the time. This book covers the history of international relations and the history of the idea of Europe in the modern and contemporary eras. The book was well received, with positive reviews and citations.
