Summary/Abstract: On the basis of the available source materials and literature of the subject, the author presents the political and legal aspects of the inclusion of Polish in the work of the Neutral Nations Su-pervisory Commission and the Neutral Nations Repatriation Commissionin Korea. He explains the relationship between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Poland between 1948 and 1953, as well as he indicates its very high dependence on the Soviet Union after World War II. On this background, the author outlines the main provisions of the peace agreement ending the three-year war on the Korean Peninsula and shows the real motives for Polish's commitment to peacekeeping in the region. He also presents the most important organisational aspects.
