Summary/Abstract: The subject matter addressed by the author has not received a comprehensive study in the literature. The present article fills this gap by pointing out the various issues related to the shaping of discipline in the largest underground army in Poland during World War II. The paper discusses both the legal regulations and the actions taken, including the sanctions in force for disciplinary offences. Making use of numerous archival materials, the author indicates that the problem of shaping discipline in the underground armed forces was extremely important. Military discipline not only had a direct impact on the subordination of soldiers, but was also often a key factor of the safety of the organisation, and shaped social attitudes in the face of the unprecedented terror of both occupants.
